I got a PM from a member who where to sell some chips and asked about info about these. Since it was not cpus or fpus i answered that most here only collect cpus and fpus. But then i got thinking... Perhaps thats only me that lives in the cpu/fpu bubble?

What do you actively collect, i.e pay money and shipping for? Look for on ebay? Putting up on your webpage,in your excel spreadsheet?

I am trying to collect CPU FPU ALU MCU and memory chips only.
But everytime I see cool looking graphics card or 20 years old laptop or transistor from earliest 50-60th... I buy it.
Last weekend I bought a couple of 386-486 CPUs and a big microphone "Made in USSR. -1952-" at local flea market Smile
I can't get it out and concentrate my efforts on CPUs.

hehe...
still no votes for "Anything that looks like a IC chip"
I know a man here in Ukraine who collects CMOS ICs.
And he has about 40 000 chips in his collection. Smile

Anything that I haven't seen before, strange, unique and then the normal stuff. And I can't resist a bargain, even if I've got the thing already.

I was sticking with IBM chips only for the last 2 years and then started a AMD K6/K6-2 collection because I kept finding such great deals on them. Latest K6 deal was 20 x K6-2 and all but 4 were different in speeds ranging from 266 - 533 for $9.99.
In the last few weeks I have continued to work on my Intel sample collection. Wink For the longest time I have been interested in Russian clones but it seems like it could be an expensive type to collect unless you have good sources.
