Can you identify this ceramic chip? It came from a socket on a "Digital" board that also had some military marked LSI (LIA0759) and DEC (DEC 19823 10ES) gold capped chips.
It broke open when I dropped it and a gold base with Silicon circuit inside was exposed. Is it a secondary processor? Do all brown ceramics have a similar gold center like this one?
This group of AT&T ICs shows the exposed gold circuits on the reverse of each chip. I found these on some AT&T analog telecom boards from the 1980's that I got on Ebay. They're a lot of fun to pick apart for the gold parts and for interesting chips and gold circuits like these. The second pic shows the gray rubber backing that covers the intricate gold circuits. This has to be removed to expose the gold.

Thanks Elar,
The companion chips are dated 1986, so this must be the same vintage, I suppose.
(Your use of English is very good, BTW. Are you born in Estonia?) |
