I'm sure many people noticed the forum appearence has changed. I also updated the phpBB software to the latest version (2.0.10). If you find any problems with the CPU-World.com or CPU-Collector.com forums please PM me, e-mail me or post in the forum.

Unfortunately, the top menu is a fixed width menu and is not scalable. I'll see what I can do about it...

Leaving top menu the same size as it is now and changing all other tables to use 100% of the screen will take a minute or two. Changing the top menu to 100% of the screen will take longer as I will need to break CPU-World image into two images. Hopefully I'll have it done tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. I don't plan any other visible changes to the forum now. As for "invisible" changes I'm going to add a feature to the forum scripts to automatically ban all clients that use automated tools similar to "wget" script. Today somebody downloaded 20000+ pages from the site, his IP is now banned, but it's too late - 1 GB of bandwidth was wasted by just this one person.

Ok, I changed it to 100% of the screen width. What do you think now?

Two small changes in the forum:

1. Now it is not possible to specify website during account registration. This is done to prevent spambots creating user accounts with the whole purpose of posting links to spammer's website(s). Normal users can always edit their profile and add a website after registration.

2. In case if spambots get smarter and the method (1) stop working, I modified the forum not to display websites for all users with 0 posts.

Contact me if you have any problems registering on the website, or if a link to your website dissapeared.

Another change to the forum: to discourage spammers from registering new user accounts the forum now requires account validation for new users. It works this way - when a user registers in the forum, the forum software sends an e-mail to the user with an activation link, when the user clicks on the link the account is validated. If anybody has a trouble registering please post in this thread (you don't need to have an account to post here).
