| I recently tried to upgrade my CPU from an AMD Athlon xp 2800+ to an AMD athlon xp 3200+ Barton. After installation the speed displayed was only 1.09GHZ instead of the 2.2 GHz. Does this mean the CPU is fake or do I need to change settings somewhere, in the Bios perhaps? |

You are running the chip at 100Mhz FSB (Doubled, FSB400), and not 200Mhz (FSB400, which is what is needed to run an AXP3200 at normal speed).
You need to adjust your BIOS for FSB400, if your board supports it. |
