|
|
I've had my pc for a while now, I have a p4 2.0ghz processor & want to upgrade my pc.
It seems the norm is now multi core processors, which is the part i'm struggling to understand.
What i cant get my head around is which would be better a or 3.6 ghz cpu or a 2.4ghz dual core cpu?
Basically is a dual core or quad core processor twice or 4 times as fast as a single core cpu?
any help would be much appreciated as i dont really wanna fork out any money until i understand this. |

It depends on the architecture. The P4, is a SLOW design, Intels new Core 2 Duos, and Core 2 Quads are blazing fast.
a Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz dual core will be significantly faster then a P4 3.6 _________________ New for 2025! The CPU Shack has a co-processor!
