Hey Y'all,
I just got these Intel's this week and the print on the C8008-1 isn't like the normal Intel type...is this a rare specimen?
C/D is 7734 - Hong Kong.
Also, the C1402's have Silver legs, not Gold--is this unusual?
The Grey-Trace chip is marked "Malaysia".
The C4001 is marked "Mexico" and the 3rd line of print is alpha letters (WLM-FO), not numbers. What does this signify, if anything?

Thanks for any insight....

take a magnifyer glass and check if the legs are just completely soldered.
I have such a chip too and at some corners I see the gold underneath
btw, I have the same grey 1402 (157990), just week 7414 with gold pins and Mexico.
Regarding the Letters on the 4001, they should be an abbreviation of the machine they were meant for, I have some 4001 chips from my UPP103 that are marked UPP.

I've just received very similar 8008-1, I've searched and I found four this reprinted cpu's (each have different package), all have label from the same stamp.
I have motherboard for C8008-1 but I don't know how can I check if it's working. |

The 4001 is a ROM, so it's probably some in-house designation for the ROM's contents.
There's a similar one pictured here:
