hi, guys. I think it would be interesting if all of us cpu-collectors from different countries have an instant chatting tools which would make communication faster and easier.
QQ is such a software which resembles ICQ. QQ allows many guys who have same interests to create a QQ Group. Man who has of the same interest can join together. Everyone could express his own point of view through QQ while others in the group could read what he just said.
Do we have a more popular instant chatting tools which support such functionality? I seldom use MSN, so I don't know whether MSN has such functionality or not. _________________ My vintage CPU collection:www.cpumuseum.com

I'm not sure if it's a good idea.
This forum is the only one existing meeting place for the CPU collectors. The other CPU collector forum http://cpu-museum.de is almost abandoned now.
IMHO if a new chat plattform will be introduced it will detract some collectors from this forum. But there are to few of us to maintain two independend communication platforms. There are only about 50 active members in this forum.
Just imagine the "for sale" or "group buy" threads/chats distributed on two different platforms!
The problem of the different time zones shouldn't be also underestimated.
An example - you are in China and I am in Germany. It will be quite difficult to find an appropriate time for a realtime chat.
Perhaps it would be wiser to create an additional (for members only) discussion area named "chat" in this forum. The "quick reply" window could be used to post the short chat-like messages. If Gennadiy implement the auto-refresh function in this discussion area (the chat-threads in the browser window will be refreshed periodically) we will get a suitable and safe chat solution. |

I may add it if many people will ask for it. I personally never liked chat and IM - I find them very distracting from work.
