Hey there Smile

Recently (since the (P)review and (S)ubmit buttons received their parentheses), I have found that if I click "quote" to quote any message, it is cleared once I press submit. I have to post quoted messages in the Quick Reply box.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is it just another Firefox problem? If it is a problem with my local settings, does anyone know what has changed so I can fix it? I have had problem previously in Firefox with cookies getting corrupted, although only ever for this site. When it happens, I get messages I have read coming up as unread, and have difficulty at times filtering those I have read from those I haven't as each time I read one message, another will get reset as being unread. At those times, I have always had to delete cookies for this site, and then allow Firefox to recreate them (seems impossible to live online and not ever have to deal with cookies - that would be my choice!).

Of course, if it is a problem with the site code, I hope it is easy to fix (and that at least one other person will have observed a similar problem and have a better idea than me of what might cause it).

This morning I tried to quote a message and it all disappeared when I clicked Submit.
It happened 3 times (I re-wrote the message, grrrr!!). Then I copied/pasted in order to not lose it again, clicked Preview, notified it was ok, clicked Submit and ... miracle .. all ok.
I don't know why.
AND NOW IT IS HAPPENING TOO !!

I'm glad (in a strange way!) that it's not just me - it means I am not losing my head again Smile

Genna: In case it helps pin down the source of the problem, I use:

Windows XP (SP3)
Firefox 2.0.0.16

The About box in Firefox returns the following info:

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.8.1.16) Gecko/20080702 Firefox/2.0.0.16

I have been able to confirm that Firefox correctly executes standards compliant HTML code, as well as compliant javascript, so I suspect it is a php problem (although I do not know enough php to be sure...).

CPUShack reported this problem to me a few days ago, but I couldn't re-create it. Since I know now that it has something to do with quoting I will try to re-create it again.

I use Opera, and when I type a response, and click "Submit", I'm then taken to the "Submit reply" page, and my reply is cleared :-C

My workaround is to click "preview" then "submit".

Did you use "Quick Reply", "PostReply" or "Quote"?

In the "quick reply" feild, I click "Submit"... And then I go to the "Post Reply" area, and all my carefully inputed response is gone! Razz
