Hello again, I'm in the process up a major upgrade and I can't decide between the E8400 or the Xenon E3110.
I've read that they are virtually the same chip but there must be some advantages to one or the other.
Here's a list of the other components that I have already purchased to compliment whatever chip I decide upon:

MOBO-DFI LANParty Dk P35-T2RS LGA775 P35 ATX DDR2 1PCI-E16 3PCI SATA2 RAID HD

RAM-Mushkin Ascent PC2-8500 4GB 2X2GB DDR2-1066 CL5-5-5-15 240PIN Dual Channel

PSU-Corsair TX750W 750W ATX 12V 60A 24PIN ATX Power

GPU-BFG GeForce GTX 280 OC 615MHZ 1024MB 2.214GHZ GDDR3 PCI-E

OS- Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Edition 64BIT

Cooling-Sunbeam Core Contact Freezer 4 Heatpipe Heatsink

I'm trying to put together a solid mid range gaming system that I wont have to upgrade in the next few months. Shocked

Don't really want to go quad right now and these two chips are in my price range. Wink

From what I've read, the e8400's have been disappointing to many owners who wanted high overclockability. Also, it appears the e8400 has a high percentage of temperature sensor problems. The e3110 has a lower maximum voltage rating, so this could restrict overclocking. (Can you tell I'm an O/C nut??)

The tiebreaker IMO would be price. Of course, for ~$25 (US) more, the q6600 looks very good to me.
