OK, the problem is if I plug my video card in the PCI-E slot but without connecting the PCI-E power chord the PC starts but it just beep's like no video card is inserted, if I connect the power chord the PC starts for 0.5 sec then shut's down, and I neet so disconect the power cable from the PSU to be able to try to start it again , the thing is that the LED from the card reader stays on even after the PC has shutdown, so what could be the problem? I tried without the video card (on integrated graphics and the PC works), even if I remove the video card from the MB and only connect the PCI-E power then try to start the PC with the video card on the table it shut's down. So is my video card busted or my PSU?

Video card is a HD4850

And the PSU a thermaltake 430W PSU

Thanks

Your PSU only supplies 18 amps of current @ +12 volts. This is woefully inadequate for a system with a video card that draws as much power as an HD4850. Check the video card manufacturer's website for specifics, but the combined current (amps) available for the +12 volt supply should be around 25 amps MINIMUM, and 28 amps or more would be better.

I tested the card with a 750W PSU, only starting the PSU with a wire and ehn I try to start the PSU with the video card connected the PSU starts for 0.5 seconds then shuts down and it won't start until I cut the power from the back on re connect it, with ut the card the PSu works, So its a shor in the video card or something, Right?

Now I'm all confused. 1st you said it was a Thermaltake 430 watt PSU, then you said something about a 750 watt PSU which I didn't understand because of the broken English, and then you say it's a Thermaltake 420 watt PSU. Question Question Question Question Question Question Question

Help me out a little, OK??

So without a computer attached, you turned the power supply on (inserting a wire from GND to PSON on the ATX connector) and the power supply blips on, and then off? Sounds like the card is at fault.

Exactly, without any components only with the PCI-E power connected to the card, starts then shutsdown after 1 sec, I'l take the card for warranty today

I won't disagree with the idea of a bad card, but some PSU's require more than just a +12 volt load to operate. They will shut down if this "required" load isn't present. This characteristic is common with switching type power supplies.

Also, your current PSU is underpowered. It has one 10 amp and one 15 amp rail, and this is less than BFG recommends as a MINIMUM. Even with a perfectly operating video card, you run the risk of all kinds of random problems now and/or down the road.
