Moderators: I am not sure if this post is in the best place, so if it needs moving to another forum please do so...

Some of you are aware of a major change that has been happening in my life. I have accepted God into my life in a major way recently, and will be selling my entire collection (plus all my other possessions) with a view to moving into an evangelical Christian community over the coming months.

There will be a separate forum set up here to help with that, so the enormity of my sales will not prevent anyone seeing any other sales (among other reasons...). I have asked that only registered members be allowed to post in the forum, for reasons that I hope I do not need to explain.

If I still owe money to anyone for any outstanding sale (or any package that has been shipped but for which payment is not yet completed) please remind me by PM (if I have not already contacted you and made an arrangement), so I can rectify that once I get some payments.

If anyone who is not going to be around over the next week or two is interested in any item they know to be in my collection (whether on my site or not), please PM me. I can hold back items from listing until those who want them are here to have a chance of purchasing or making offers.

More details will be in the first post in the new forum (as well as a link in my sig once I start listing later today).

Wow debs, that sounds so great if that is what feels right for you! Congratulations on being courageous to take a step like that. Amazing! At the same time, its sad since this sounds that the forum will have to continue without your crazy AMD skills. Are you sure about leaving the church of the golden legs? Have you thought about storing the collection?

Can you tell us more about your move? Is it like some sort of monastery? Will you become a nun now? Wink

Will you not keep a few to remind yourself of 'old times'?

How about having a mega yard sale?

It will be a big loss for all of us.
I hope you'll be happy in your new life.

And I hope I will be able to get some "souvenirs" of you from your sale Wink

I won't be a nun, although I am committed to remaining celibate in order to better serve God (that does not apply to all members of the church or the community houses, although for some of us it is what God has called us to be part of).

The main website for the church is at www.jesus.org.uk. You will find links from the opening page to a site describing community life, for those members who are called by God to live that way, as well as links to other information about the church. I will leave it to those longer standing members of the church who prepared the website to say much about our beliefs, as I am still at a relatively early stage in my growth with God. What I can say is that I am part of a radical church, that has gone through many struggles to be able to live with the sort of faith shown by the early Christians in New Testament times.

I will for a while be around in order to give people time to ask questions they might have (I will not say too much in the open forum, as not everyone here will be happy to read about my beliefs, much as I would love to tell everyone how much God has done in my life...). I will however answer any questions I am asked by PM, and if there is no opposition to what I am saying I am sure I will say more in the open forum Smile

Once I have finished selling what I sell here (I will be keeping sales exclusively here until some time in October, so that collectors I have come to know and love have the first chance at buying what they want), and put everything else on eBay, I will be maintaining a presence here, as it has become a home where I feel I am accepted and known, and I will not abandon anyone who might be searching for direction and have questions themselves. I will also be checking in from time to time as part of what I believe to be one part of God's role for me, which is to help those within God's service to keep their computers functioning Smile

What it does mean, apart from giving up my possessions, is that any information I have been gathering will be getting organised and I will over time be offering some information pages to 1 or 2 members to post on their sites. Again, this is important for me, as I need to show people that as well as being happy for the first time in years, with God's grace I am also getting more organised in my thinking and actions Smile

A yard sale would be great if there were many collectors local to me, but I think we are few and far between in England Smile

I will be keeping my main computer and a couple of others, but that is in order to maintain (and develop) the knowledge and skills I need in order to keep computers within the church running efficiently. I would be tempted to keep a few chips that have a special place in my heart, but I cannot allow them to get in the way of letting God touch my heart even more deeply than He already has Smile

All posts relating to this will now be in http://www.cpu-world.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=19

I will be posting shortly a little more detail about the sale itself. If anyone wants to know more about my reasons for this or to better understand it, please keep it to that forum, so the forum in general doesn't get too cluttered with my new found faith in God (much as I would like that, it is not what we are all here for Smile )

To Debs and everybody else - new forum, intended for selling Debs' collection, is in place. Debs is a moderator there, and she can set any rules for the forum as she likes. Which means, if she wants people to post offers in her forum - so be it Smile The forum is open for registered users only.

Well Debs - If there you have any items that are too many, bulky etc to sell via eBay; bundle them up and let me have a look at them (I can collect).

Thanks donutty.

I am now 80 miles farther from you than I was, I am now in Northampton Smile This discussion might be better kept in the dedicated forum now, in case I don't find time to check all the forum over the next few days while sorting out lists to post.

I will keep your offer in mind for once I finish listing here.
