I need someone clever to tell me how I can fix master boot record under DOS by program which will be contained in one floppy.

I tried ranish partition manager but without success.

I will describe shortly my problem : I have no bootable cd-rom. I can only boot from floppy. I created partitions under fdisk. There is full XP installation files on D:\ XP copied files and after reboot I got message : ntldr is missing ...

I read somewhere that is mbr problem. I must fix it. The most easy method is fixmbr under recovery console but it is impossible without optical drive. I'm right ? Please help

Hi, here you can download an utility from Microsoft used to create the 6 installation floppy for Win XP PRO http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/SP1/W98NT42KMeXP/EN-US/winxpsp1_en_pro_bf.exe

while here it's the same utility for Win XP Home http://download.microsoft.com/download/WinXPHome/Install/310994/WIN98MeXP/IT/WinXP_IT_HOM_BF.EXE

recovery console didn't help me Sad before last disk (6th) was loaded I got blue screens with 00000x... errors. After spent 18 hours I can say you can do everything with : partition magic 8.05 + ranish partition manager + mbrwizzard

if HDD isn't physical damaged

I don't wrote that number but on M$ help page was information about mbr error or hard disk physical damage. So I ask for what in hell is recovery console command : fixmbr if I cann't access to console ! LOL ok in most cases you are so lucky and get into console and fix it.
