I have a Gigabyte GA-MA69GM-S2H motherboard and an Athlon 64 X2 BE-2400 processor. I am running the latest F5 bios. On bootup, the processor is correctly identified, but on the line immediately below the processor name is the following:

<CPUID: 00060FB2 Patch ID: 0083>

What does this mean? Are there any Bios settings which might affect this display? Are there any performance implications of this once I have booted into windows?

This is a BIOS patch
[1] To support new series of CPUs, or
[2] To support the same CPU but with new stepping.
CPU support of motherboard is consist of BIOS and hardware design.
If you buy a new mobo ex(rev.1.0) the hardware may support certain CPUs but must set up from BIOS. OR they are screwd it up from the beginning and now with this patches are for fix the problems.
I have a Gigabyte GA-MA78G-DS3H with an Athlon 5400+ , bios F4 and i have the same patch. This type of mobo at the beginning was trouble with CPU fan, overheating of the NB, etc and now with the F4 version of BIOS they fix it up. But still no handle with 140W CPUs. (Phenom Quad).
