How to search chip's data sheet on internet?

As you know I am a beginner on cpu collection.
How do you get some information for unknown chip?

For example in this chip UMC AM-286


I do'nt know what's that, I guess it's a bios.
I have searched key word "UMC AM-286" in google.
But the results are almost uselss information.

Where can I get some useful information for unknown chips?
Of course ask you senior guys on cpu-world.com is an exception.

AM-286 is not real device type. Look at chips underside. Often, especially on ROM's/PROM's real chip type is printed there.
