how much will they be in your mind?
they are rare but with ugly appearance. I want to buy but dont know about their value.

Personally i would pay $50 or so for the top one and maybe half that for the ones that are practically unreadable. But i am sure there are others here that would spend more on these.

Wait a minute $400+ for the top one, i saw a c4040es sell for less than that in pristene condition.

this 4040 ES (not the one pictured)
is sold by gmanbc to a forum member via ebay
it has a broken leg ( and resoldered)
therefore it sold cheap

C4040 is more rare than C4004

AHHHH i see now, thanks for clearing that up for me. I still wouldnt give $400 for one tho, certainly not in that condition. But then again i still dont think 4004s are all that rare, you just need to big money to get one, theres plenty of them that come up for sale as far as i have seen.

uggh i can see why it went cheap then, sorry to sound so shocked at the price in cpushacks first post, it might do better to show that pic linked to that auction since there is a huge misinterpetation on what was actually sold.

To give you an idea, I bought several C4040s for $50 each.

I sold the extras (should have kept them) for $300 EACH, and that was 6 years ago.

WOw thats a nice score for you there John, i didnt realize they were so special, i geuss i was going by the fact that i have seen so many d4040 sold around for in the 40-80 dollar range. I guess im going to clean up with this tube of them i have here heh heh heh just kidding Very Happy Rolling Eyes

D4040 and P4040 are common, C400 are not Smile
