I've got some unusual chips for my collection.
The first picture shows a bunch of so called "transputers".
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transputer
How rare are they? How many members of this forum have transputers in their collections?
On the second and third pictures a IBM Power3 CPU on the board is shown. It appears to be a 400 MHz Power3 processor with 4096KB L2 cache from an IBM RS6000. The chip is made of white ceramic.
Does somebody collect Power3 CPUs? |

I might be interested in the Power3 on it's board, depending on the price you would want, but would first have to check the system I would want to put it in to see if it is the same type of card. _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.

I would bet the Inmos Transputers in the PLCC package were actually made by ST (as I KNOW ST has a fab in Malta, and I dont think Inmos did) _________________ New for 2025! The CPU Shack has a co-processor!

I'll add the IBM part number in the documentation section of my website. I think it's a POWER3-II but not sure. Is there a part number on the card? (and of course, I collect these kinds of CPU ) _________________ My microprocessor collection: The Gecko's CPU Library |

Debs has a IBM board that I think needs a CPU, would be good to test/sell it. _________________ New for 2025! The CPU Shack has a co-processor!

I have given up collecting CPUs. I am still interested in repairing some systems that I bought for software testing purposes (I am a self-taught programmer, and hope to improve on that to make me more employable).
I also will occasionally buy chips that can be used for upgrading/repairing computers within the church, as well as other parts that could be used to enhance the computer systems within the church.
There is of course no reason to not use my interests and skills within God's service - I just do not wish to maintain a collection in such a way that it ruled my life _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.
