I went down to a recylcer ( Scrapper) plant a day or two ago, thinking what the hell? GMANBC found like 2987340824372089 4040's, so why can't I go down and do the same?

I entered the place and talked to one of the guys and lead me to the computer area ( Apparently they didn't even know what the term CPU meant, "Never Heard of it"). I was digging around, and the more I stayed there looking through the garbage scrap boards I slowly lost respect for myself. But nonetheless, I found a bag's worth of some nice chips, few mortorolla chips the size of a 3 musketeers bar, old HP chips, mosteks, etc.

I finally finished after 40 minutes of digging. I figured the guy is a nice person because I knew him from before, and he might give me the bag for nothing or close to nothing. Turns out he wanted $100 for about 15 chips, more plastic than metal plated, and I didn't know what they were worth, so I said "They're not worth $100". Son a b**** took the bag out of my hand and told me "If you don't want'em don't take'em".
There was so much anger I just walked away like nothing happened, but fortunetely I didn't go empty handed. This chip below managed to "Slip into my pocket".

I hope it's worth more than an hour of my time, and a cut finger might I add. At least some information on it will be just fine for me. Please let me know

He's a guy that bought scrap from me before Laughing
The man can't even speak.
I'd be $100 down the drain if I bought those. Or $500 up? I don't really know. I didn't even have time to bargain with the guy. He was about to cry over $20

But Does anyone know what the symbol is? Question Question Question Question Question Question Question Question Question Question

Heh, you know how long it took me to take those out of the boards? I cut my finger pretty deep in the process. I took out a small alcohol pad and cleaned it right away Sad
Besides, the only reason I put that chip in my pocket is because I thought it was free. How was I supposed to know the guy wanted money for his trash?( How he views it )
That's the worst experience I've had so far in chip collecting. It also made me feel worse about the chips I currently have, how 80% or so were pulled from boards at those scrap places and sold on ebay. VERY dirty view.

Date code of 1979 though, which is pretty nice, and a pretty package to boot.

I whish I found that many C4040s Smile at a scrap dealer. I am sure there are still some nice chips waiting at some scrap yard for someone to find but I haven't had any luck as of late Sad

Good luck though!
