How bad is the chip[ on the C8008? The plastic holder covers up a lot of it, so it is hard to tell how bad it really is...

I'm having a problem getting my bids accepted by your Ebay.
Can my Ebay password work in Europe?

You should be able to bid on any listing placed anywhere in the world, from any account anywhere in the world. Wherever you are registered, you should also be able to login from any regional ebay site.

The only thing that should prevent you bidding on a listing (unless eBay added that to the restrictions lately..) is if a seller has blocked you or if they only accept bids from buyers in certain regions.

I placed a bid for 1 Eu over the last bid for an item and I kept getting some note in Dutch with red letters that I couldn't interpret. I did Login.
Are you blocking US bidders?

Very strange that you cannot bid, there is no blocking of any bidder active. The auctions are on eBay Germany so the text you get should be German not Dutch.

Could you post a screenshot or PM it to me?
To be absolutely sure i will check the auction when i get home.

About that 'damage' of the Chip. I wil take some more pictures and put them in the auction.

I recently noticed that I could not access to some ebay US items , and that I could only see them when I log in ebay.com (instead of ebay.fr) even if there is no restriction on bidding for these items. Maybe it's the same in the other way...

I checked eBay and the auctions, could not find anything wrong. No blocking of accounts or anything.

I had a good look at the chips chip. Seems to be a rather normal thing with those older chips. I looked at some other iC8008's in collections and many are the same.

Anyway, i made another close-up. As you can see the chip is in really good condition :
