I am going to go cry myself to sleep I am joking but kinda bummed.
I got hit by both VintChip and Collectibot in one day. The only thing that makes me feel a little better is that this isnt a cpu but a support chip. But I know I am going to see this chip sit on ebay for $200-300 for the next 5 years.

I was tempted to bid on one of that seller's other auctions. However, I read some discussion in these forums about shill bidding in some of his prior auctions, which has discouraged me from placing bids.
Do you feel that this guy is trustworthy? He certainly is not shy to 'educate' us about how BIG chip collecting will become!!!!!!!111 |

haha, have you seen his "Military" Nx586, with "minor" bent pins on the back? Seems to be some sort of IBM Rarity
If only some of these traders who claim to know what they are talking about would actually do some basic research _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.

I have mixed feelings but for this chip all ethics go out the window! I have been trying to get this exact chip for quite awhile and have only seen one other with these markings. |

On this point, I am actually less concerned. This seller seems to be a metal scrapper (he also sells gold chain, etc.) with limited knowledge of electronics. That's ok, it just means that the buyer will have to beware and be educated.
Granted, in trying to play to his intended audience, the seller tends to annoyingly oversell the RARITY!!!! of his wares - but this is tolerable - if the buyer gets some nice chips.
What is not tolerable is when the game is rigged. Past examples of shill bidding tend to send me away. |

Thanks for the tip, Neon.
We can get too carried away when bidding and forget to be careful about shills ---

to my surprise, the other three auction of es ended with a very very low price ! why ? just because of shill bidding? _________________ My vintage CPU collection:www.cpumuseum.com

In my mind rare-chips-4-u has been involved in shill bidding before. That time with an account called "top$gold". Both accounts from the same town (Boxford, MA with a pop. of only ~7000). What are the odds of a buyer of a AMD 2901 flat package in the same town?

Don't worry, it's only a support chip
Moreover $100+ is very expensive for a support chip IMHO.
So now, you know what these cool looking LOCKHEED MARTIN chips are? Radiation hardened chips? _________________ My microprocessor collection: The Gecko's CPU Library |

Lots of shill bidding on that seller, but not on everything.
Personally I dont like the snake oil selling tactics. Quite often he makes up a lot of lies and bullshit about the item he is selling.
I also dont like the seller. He is very unpleasant and rude when you tell him there is a problem with a listing. So, as it has been said before, if you dont like the prices or the person, dont buy. So I dont. And I am only mentioning this because this thread came up.
racechips4u, if you are reading this, you are a c*ck. |

I found a BAE/NASA stock list and this listed as a 32 bit PMP for the RAD6000.
I cant complain. I recently received some VERY nice Pentiums from Jerome to get my Pentium collection going and never got to say thank you |
