I have 31 marked as such. One is fake though. It is a pentium mmx es. A period piece produced in china not to fool collectors but rather to sell a slower chip as faster. I am proud to have scrapped 5 of my es/qs chips myself locally. It makes me feel like I have contributed to the knowledge base when I find pieces previously unknown to collecting as several of these were.

Whups, I did make it sound like I scrapped ES chips. Such is obviously not the case. I recovered them at a scrap yard. They live a nice comfortable life now in my collection.

I think 29 by now but not my scope. I get that kind of CPUs because of many of you always talk about it, they are few units of each, they are uncommon, etc. The only difficulties are costs and units available in the 'market' Wink

Engineering Samples are hard to find unless you have connections in the IC industry, it seems. Rolling Eyes

I have one ES chip which is like this one:
http://www.chipdb.org/img-intel-odp486-33-q695-es-6634.htm
I can't recall where I got it, but probably bought it at a second hand shop for a few dollars as an interesting 486 overdrive some years ago and didn't realise it was an engineering sample till about a week ago. Does anyone here have one of these? It is not marked DX or SX, but computer reports it as a 80486DX2.
