If you have a FPO, please post a picture of the CPU that has it, and the back of the CPU (or wherever the country is marked)

the first digit of the intel FPO is country code (or plant code )
Does anyone has a complete list of it
what i find by google now is

0 = San Jose, Costa Rica (Heredia)
1 = Cavite, Philippines
2 = -----------, USA
3 = .............., Costa Rica

Lets make this a permanent thing, I'll edit the first post but if you have a FPO, please post a picture of the CPU that has it, and the back of the PCU (or wherever the country is marked)

I'll edit the first post to keep a list, with pics of all known FPO's

chipPAC (Korea,Singapore, Barbados), SPIL, Amkor, and TSMC also build Intel parts

trying to figure out who Intel uses in Japan, and Korea

Amkor in Korea (and 3 factories in the phillipines) makes/made many 8018x and 8019x processors

ASE makes parts for Intel in Taiwan and Penang, Malaysia

I think that the code on the front is for assembly site, whereas the code of the back is for die producing site. So it might be different, and therefore we cannot use back markings to know front letter code...
Same than date codes in fact : front date code is always later than back date codes, because front one is for assembly, whereas back one is for die producing.

Anyway, in this last case, if we just look at the back "4" code would be for Korea, which is different from previous statements...

Country on the back IS assembly/Test location, as thats what legally must be tracked (besides Intel has actual fabs in only a few places)

Intel has 8 Assembly/Test sites
There are no Korea, no Japan (anymore ?), no Ireland, and even no USA. So front code could be related to Fab sites ?

See this interesting file.
It could help to find some gaps.

Intel HAD assembly in Ireland (not currently though) same with other companies.

Korea plant is a subcontractor.

Japan is where Intels Assembly/Test R&D center is (and may also be a contractor there)

In the USA, Intel has Assembly/Test in New Mexico, as well as smaller ones in Aloha, OR, and Chandler, AZ.
