Hello,

I've Intel Pentium 4, 3.0 GHZ.
In the boot screen and also in my windows xp it shows that I've 3.0GHZ CPU but the speed written 1.99 GHZ.
For example at windows system information it shows:
" Pentium 4 cpu 3.00GHZ
2.00GHz, 1.00 GB of RAM "

Also when I do benchmark with Everest program it shows that the speed is 1995.4 MHz and in parentheses it says 3.0 GHZ original.
I want to know if it's normal. The speed everywhere doesn't need to be 3.0 GHZ (also in Everest program)?
My motherboard is from ASUS company and the model is p4s8x-mx

Thank for everyone that will give me a solution.

Fabio

It's possible you're running your processor at 533 MHz FSB, when you should be running it at 800 MHz FSB. Check your FSB settings.

Yes, check the BIOS settings. I don't know where to check in BIOS because I never used that motherboard. See if the motherboard manual has any information on the FSB settings.
