Personally I prefer go fishing instead of voting Smile
Hate politics.
You've probably heard of Ukrainian "orange revolution." There has been a lot of debate about inflation, corruption, high cost of living and of housing... blablabla. Millions of people believed and our current president won. But now we have still higher prices, corruption and so on. They think on budget allocation, privatisation ect.
Here in Kiev one-roomed flat costs $100 000, benzine more than $1 per litre, food and clotsing like in Erope or higher... But disability or old-age pension less than $200... parental leave benefit is $30 per month.
World finantional crisis in addition.

One more thing I don't like is mass media.
I can watch Russian, Ukrainian, and BBC, CNN DW... channels here. So different points of view ! Especially on wars: Georgia, Iraq, Yugoslavia, Afganistan... . There was celebrated cases when BBC and Russian channels showed the same demolished South Ossetia home/ killed civilians/ crying mothers.
But comments were so different. I hate it.

You do not hate politics (just the politicians) and you are informed. And you do have an own opinion. That is much more than the majority of voting people.

I make no excuses for Bush who I did not even vote for in 04. He is a fool and a Crusader. As a Libertarian ideologically I cannot abide fools who run off and start wars with loud mouthed dictators for shakey reasons. Preemptive wars are illegal for a reason. Although I do not think Bush is the worst president in modern times (Carter has that well locked down,) I would put him as the #2 worst. Although, It is my humble opinion that Obama will easily supplant Carter as #1. McLame on the other hand would have landed nicely at somewhere between 3-5.

But you know there are 43 others that should be rated, not only the last few;-)

Yup, the boxing gloves might be a good idea. There have been some heated arguments here about Obama's "socialist" views. Lots of folks blame Obama for the long time belief by Democrats that the rich should be taxed at a higher rate than the poor. America has generally been run that way, with the occasional Republican't (like George Bush) giving the "handouts" to the wealthy and placing the burden on the middle class. America, like most other "Democratic" countries has a progressive tax rate. It's like Obama came up with the idea if you listen to his opponents and the uninformed.

Hundreds of emails were sent out by Republican'ts which were well documented lies and rumors. Some people fell for the distortions and speech/book excerps taken out of context or edited to reinforce an incorrect message. A few people fell for them, obviously most DID NOT.

While I disagree with Obama's anti-gun beliefs, I'm also not a one issue voter and look at the whole person rather than 'cherry picking' an issue or two and making a worse choice by voting for the opponent. BTW, with the recent U.S. Supreme Court's ruling on the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution, at this point our right to keep and bear arms is assured, so speculation and wise cracks concerning Obama taking away our freedoms are just "sour grapes".

Can you tell I was an Obama campaign worker and I voted for him?? Cool

Oh yeah, Georgie Bush IS the worst President we've ever had, though Jimmy Carter runs a close 2nd. To my knowledge, Georgie 'W' has the worst job approval rating for the longest period of time, too. Actually Georgie is nothing more than a hand puppet for Dick Cheney, the vice-president. Where 'Dick' goes, Georgie has to follow (or lead). Laughing

I thought starting this topic would bring out such emotions. Glad to see my intuition hasn't failed me.

No matter what your political persuasion, let's all agree to disagree and get on with finding great chips and sharing information!
