What is this Sun chip SEM2204BGA?

One more question while here - I have a Motorola DSP56001 mounted on circuit board. Does anyone collect DSPs?

Debs use to collect DSP's.

Dunno if anyone else does.

I have a limited range of DSPs. I was far more choosy and less excited by them then CPUs/MCUs and related processors.

Some of you have noticed I am buying some relatively modern chips on eBay (mostly stuff to test for using, but not all of it...). I am likely to resume collecting at slower and more responsible pace but will for sure be browsing listings for things that are poorly described, gems hidden in the middle of a poorly listed lot, etc.

I guess some habits die hard, but I think I can safely say I will never get back to spending on chips 6 months (or even weeks!) before I can pay, as I have greater responsibilities now (like a vegetable garden, new friends who can't get to church without me, a car that is expensive to maintain, etc). I hope to use some of my free time to seek out new sources for interesting items Smile

This particular Motorola DSP came from an ISA "voice interface card", and it also had a 286 and many smaller chips on it.

Maybe this was part of a business telephone system?

Debs, hope you can find some interesting items. Good luck with the garden. Home grown veggies are great because you can make your own Sun Chips

- from tomato and cucumber slices.
