Looks nice, but is it what it seems to be? I'm very sceptical about things that are sold as unique, hyper-rare, or anything like

Debs, I agree it always pays to be careful, but I'd be comfortable that this is authentic for the following reasons-
> the seller has a good Ebay feedback score of 1078 with 100% positive feedback
> he has many listings of historic "space" items going for high prices and I would bet that most of these buyers are careful also. (see his other listings)
> he has close access to the Kennedy Space Center in Florida (where many of the NASA surplus-junk dealers are)

This is something even I wouldn't dare de-solder!!!

John
Time for you to issue some personal junk bonds in order to fund this purchase. You know you want it!

Sadly, I can't afford this board, but I hope someone in the group can. Sad

The Ebay listing says that IBM was the contractor for this item.

"IBM was the prime contractor for the Apollo Saturn V I.U. They designed and built the Guidance, Navigation and Control Computer for Saturn Apollo.
I great part of Apollo Moon Shot history that had an original acquisition cost in the thousands of dollars!"

Unless a board can be verified by the actual electronics on board vs. sellers word I am VERY skeptical. But my real issue is that buying stuff like this on ebay is almost always going to insure that you are going to pay ALOT for it but not always. I just acquired a Mongoose-V board, still not sure from which project it is from though.

This guy has alot of space stuff so probably is legit.

If this board is really for APOLLO ,it would be precious. But looking at this board, it is so simple with only tens of same kind chips on it. therefore it should probably only be just a small memory board. so no control unit on it. I doubt it worth really much.

I agree!
We pay $1000+ for C4004, C4040 chips, without any history information, so this NASA board sold cheap, considering this is a rare piece of man's space exploration history. It could easily be on in a space-museum display.
