I am currently running an Athlon 1800+ on an A7N8X Deluxe mobo (ver 1.04) and am looking to upgrade to the Athlon 3200+...can I plug n play per se?

Yes. Your mobo must support all Athlon XP, including 3200+ without any problem.

Is that a YES with a BUT = MAYBE? Laughing icon_confused2

By plug n play I meant glue it to a heatsink n slap it in...or is there more.

Please excuse me, I am an idiot when it comes to these things. icon_dribble

I have done some poking around inside my machine as well as the 'net, but some clear answers and feedback would be reassuring before I attempt NOT to fry stuff. icon_flamed

You need board version 1.04 (which you have) and BIOS 1004

Upgraded, but I notice it's reading my processor at 1.8 Ghz, shouldn't it be 2.2?
