Thats my first guess too, graphics trouble, try installing the most current drivers for the card or chip, and then try a graphics benchmarking program or just run a heavy game to test it out. Make sure the fan is spinning on the card itself and not just locked up.

If newer drivers don't work you can also test older drivers.

To test your graphics card for stability try running FurMark. It's a quick but heavy-duty benchmark. Install and fire it up. In the menu select 'Stability test'. If it doesn't lock up your hardware is probably fine. If not:
- validate your PSU and check if the voltages are within range.
- is the machine in total working properly? Try a CPU benchmark (Prime95 or Orthos) and test your CPU. If it will fail, too you know it's not the graphics card.

And at last but not least: be sure you have installed *all* drivers. Besides drivers for the graphics card you also have to install drivers for your motherboard. In case you did install these drivers, try installing newer/older ones.
