|
|
I just want to know what is the best board in the Asus P5Q Series. I saw a P5Q P45 in a retail store and when I search the Asus site I cant find the model. Is the P5Q P45 the same as P5Q Premium? And is it the best board in the P5Q series? _________________ A person who won't read has no advantage over one who can't read. |

It's not so easy to say what P5Q is the best,
it depends on what memory will you use,
how many lan and sata do you need, will you OC it or not |

Im goin to use it for the Q9550 processor and I want to get the best motherboard there is. Im planning on having a 4gb memory and Im not going to use it for OC. Just for gamming purpose. Any suggestion for a good motherboard? _________________ A person who won't read has no advantage over one who can't read. |

The P5Q Deluxe. I just built my new work system with it and a quad core. Works nicely with the arctic pro 7 cooler as well.
Oh, what OS you going to use? 4gig is useless on WinXP32. 2 gig is plenty. |

Also give the old Asus P5K-boards with P35 chipset
a chance! Lower power consumption than P45,
faster SATA-ports with ICH9 (yes, few % faster than
the f***ing ICH10). The P45 does nothing better and
has only a very few innovations.... PCIe2.0, oh great! _________________ Ordem e Progresso |

Thanks for all the suggestions. The retailer said I have to wait for atleast a month for the board. I cant wait that long so I acquire a XFX nvidia nforce 780i SLI board. Is this a good board? _________________ A person who won't read has no advantage over one who can't read. |

| I've got the P5Q3 on a C0 Q9550 running very stable at 3.58 Ghz. I had it running at 3.7 Ghz without any crashes but dropped it down as I don't think my memory can handle the overclock. OCZ (I've got 4 gigs but using only 3.2) memory is probably the limiting factor. |
