Hello,

I have an AMD Geode (ANXL1500FGC3F) and I'd like to run it. I saw on the wikipedia article that Geode NX processors are "100 percent socket and chipset compatible" with AMD's Socket A Athlon XP processors: SIS741CX Northbridge and SIS 964 Southbridge, VIA KM400 Northbridge and VIA VT8235 Southbridge, VIA KN400A Northbridge and VIA VT8237R Southbridge and other Socket A chipsets.

But my socket A motherboard has a nForce2 chipset (ASUS A7N8X-X, rev. 2). As I don't want to burn out my Geode CPU's, I'd like to know if some of you had already used the Geode NX and what you think about the Geode/nForce2 compatibility. The Geode being an "exotic" CPU, I didn't find usable informations about it for now.

Thank you!

Geode NX should be a 100% Athlon XP core compatible, but it require 1,0V from motherboard so not many MB could run at so low voltage. Here http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/149657-12-a7n8x-a7v8 you can find some info about a volt-mod for your MB

I have the similar ANXL1500FGC3M, and it does run on my nForce2 board. However, it is multiplier locked at 6.0 (*133 = 800 MHz), and it never goes to 7.5 (*133 = 1000 MHz).

I tried to use RMClock to adjust the multiplier, but it is not compatible with nvidia chipsets.

EDIT: According to my saved CPU-Z screenshot, the board ran the Geode at 1.168V. Certainly safe for a short time test.

I have a Geode 1750+ in one of my computers.

These CPUs can endure high core voltages without any damage. I used my chip with 1,65V VCore for a quite long time.
