Ups, no, I meant a natural rock in the ocean, some hundred yards from the coast, it is like a bow - you can sail through a hole. _________________ You may use the photos I have posted here under CC BY-NC-SA license. |

Hey guys... stop bad mouthing each other's cities and states
Ooops heh I see you were referring to me dropping Oregon
Because I re-scheduled to one-way only, I need to fly from a large airport without going all the way up to Seattle, unless anybody can think of an alternative.
Thanks for the advice. I was thinking of scheduling the north eastern leg around Hamvention in May... chip hunting anyone?
Right... sorry to any Texans but we're skipping that part of the country since nobody seems to think much of it And it cuts 5 hours off the journey (so no, we won't be going to Austin either). Neon... can you persuade me back?
Hey that airplane scapyard looks cool... very neatly arranged!
Don't think they will let me in though!
I will be hauling my HD camera around with me to capture your country in all it's glory. Maybe I'll keep a blog too.
The trip is still being planned, but we won't be veering too far from this:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=MacArthur+Causeway%2FUS-41&daddr=Defiance+Rd+to:Luther+Rd+to:S+Avenue+N+to:Unknown+road+to:I-515+N+to:Bunker+Hill+Dr&hl=en&geocode=FYRBiQEd1vo4-w%3BFerPWwIdXbSG-w%3BFc4-jAIdKMlP-w%3BFQBhfAIdRkPI-g%3BFQ5sFQIdvMDK-Q%3BFUf2JwIdQScj-Q%3BFYqSPAIdFDG1-A&mra=mr&mrcr=0&via=1,2,3,4,5&sll=32.657876,-112.148437&sspn=9.113364,19.775391&ie=UTF8&t=h&z=6
Note that not every place is exactly on route; we will be straying a bit from the freeways.

I liked all US and Canadian states I have visited so far, and that's around 25.
You will do so too, wherever you go:-)
... btw, I didn't mention the Glacier Park Hotel where i was while it was snowing. The walls (thin wood) were not tight, you could stick your fingers outside. Not, that I had a pleasant night there but it was GREAT as now I have a story to tell:-)
... and my State is too far from what we are talking about here, lol
And it is Arch Rock, look here (it could be my picture, I took the same position between the two trees. it still hangs in my floor:-)

Heheeh--I loved the "Waltons". |

Aha, so it's up to me to promote Dallas / Ft. Worth tourism.
wepwawet is absolutely correct that Ft. Worth has better tourist sites than Dallas. The Ft. Worth stockyards has a live cattle drive, live bull riding, live country music, and lots of Texas barbeque. There is a nice botanic garden with lots of roses and cactii and a Japanese garden. DFW has Six Flags amusement park (roller coasters), several large shopping malls that each contain about 150 stores plus restaurants, and an assortment of museums (western art, aviation) and zoos. Dallas is more cosmopolitan, and has a lot of bars and nightclubs, fancy restaurants, fancy hotels, and skyscrapers.
If you show up on the first or third Saturday of the month, I would take you to the sidewalk sale to hunt for aged electronics.
The big attraction of Austin is the music scene. Oh, and AMD fab 25, an Intel design center, and Dell outlet store.
The downside is that north Texas is not particularly exciting scenic driving, and the distances between points of civilization are long. |

| Yeah, one of my reasons was to do the Sidewalk Sale! |
