Hi,

I would like to here out the experts.
I have Asus A7v266 with PCB in BIOS 133 (which is multipled by 2 to 266).
I have 2 old DDR 266MHZ Hynix modules (256 MB each),
I want to add 1 GB DDR 400 A-data module.
Teoretically I know that all modules should work fine according to BIOS (266).
But I hear rummors that this is dangerous to install such combination.
What do you think ?
Personally I already tried this once - at first everything went fine, but after several hours the new 1 GB 400MHZ module got dammaged,
So I still wonder weaver this happenned because of factory defect or wrong usage ?

Hi,
I think this was a factory damage, any PC3200 DDR module (400MHz) should be certified for lower frequencies (333 and 266 MHz)
