i was wondering if the package of the Intersil chip on the right is common?

I havent seen this package style before and wonder why they made it as dont see how it could have saved costs in the manufacturing process Confused

They made the chip and then remembered they needed another 4 pins lol

Strange.

Probably cost more to make a special mould than the amount of resin they saved!

Its a ADC to, which isnt high heat, or it would be possible they used thos pins as heatsinks
