It is fake

Original fansink will not leave such a mark on the CPU
It is nearly always a prefect circular shape and reddish in color.

Almost convincing, but if you have a look at the two "0" in the bottom left hand corner (the "200"), they are different!

Putting aside that it is ceramic.. if you go by the sSpec this comes with an UNATTACHED heat-sink. So someone could of used a different glue.

But then ones with unattached heat-sinks have "intel pentium (R) w/ MMX tech" on the top in white print and no speed engraved in the corner.

I personally dont have an issue with the font of the engraving as this picture resolution. Surprised

Hugo do you have an hi-res pics of the engraving on top?
What does the font on the bottom look like?

edit >> intel have had other sSPecs in both CPGA and PPGA, but i have never seen them to vary on whether a heat-sink is attached or not within a sSPec.

The font is a little bold (not really an issue) otherwise font shape is perfect and it matches perfectly.

My only two issues are the couple of dark brown patches (bottom left is the largest)... are they marks on the surface or is it where paint is flaking?

and the die cap surface appears to have no shine Surprised

found a reference to what a genuine factory-installed heatsink would look like when it is removed
notice the shape of circular mark and the residue

http://www.chipdb.org/img-intel-bp80503200-sl23x-fake-6645.htm

btw, I agreed that on the questioning pentium, mark on back side is slightly bolder
