Today at the market I found several AMD CPU engineering samples. All tested working.

Top left: K6-2/333 engineering sample. CPUID 580. Chomper core. The 2.2V and 26050 package number suggest it is a desktop K6-2 sample. The mobile and embedded K6-2 did not launch until 1999. It is unlikely there would be samples of those as early as 1997, the indicated copyright year on my sample.

Top right: Mobile Duron 850. DHM0850ALS1B ES. CPUID 670. Camaro core. This looks nearly the same as in the cpu-world database. Same AHAAA stepping also.

Bottom left: Mobile Athlon 4 700. CPUID 660. Corvette core. Has anybody else seen this cpu yet? Probably 700 speed grade was ES only, not for sale. I confirmed with Crystal CPUID and RMClock that the maximum multiplier on this cpu is 7.0.

Bottom right: Mobile Athlon 4 900. CPUID 660. Corvette core. I broke one of the pins whilst trying to straighten it. The pin had been very badly bent. However, this CPU still POSTs! Lucky for me. Smile

3 of these have penciled writing on the back, which I noticed on other ES CPUs. Does anyone know if these writings give useful information - maybe they are lot numbers?

You know at the market, in between corn chips and potato chips, they have the silicon cpu chips. Wink

Dallas has a "flea" market that has mostly computer parts vendors, so sometimes I find something worthwhile. Today was especially good.

More AMD engineering samples!

left: Athlon 700. CPUID 642. Thunderbird core. This seems to be early sample of A0700APT3B.

middle: Athlon 800. CPUID 642. Thunderbird core. This seems to be early sample of A0800APT3B.

right: Mobile Duron 900. DHM0900AQS1B ES. CPUID 670. Camaro core. This looks nearly the same as in the cpu-world database, except this has AHHAA stepping.
