I still use it. Not many people I know use it now. ICQ always was better than MSN. _________________ General failure reading disk in drive A

Signed in 1998, left it in 1999.
Really wasn't my thing. I use skype with friends, much better to talk than write. |

Wow, I used to use that about 10 years ago!
I don't really chat online anyway now, but when I do I use MSN. |

In Russia ICQ protocol is very popular, almost all my friends use it.
But they use as client Miranda IM, Trillian, etc., not the native one. |

I used to use it, but ever since i used my first voice program, IIRC roger wilco, now i only use skype, i agree its much easier to just talk with my friends than to type gibberish. _________________ "The only reason for time is so that everything doesn't happen at once." A.E. |

And QIP... QIP Infium supports OSCAR, XMPP (Jabber), Gtalk (Jabber), LiveJournal (Jabber), Mail.Ru Agent, IRC and XIMSS (SIP). |

When I use a quick chat with friends, I can see that for a few lines written minutes have passed... voice is so much easier for everything. |

Most of my online chatting in the past was IRC, I used to live on one certain server. Still pop on there every now and again.
My chatting now is done with a Transceiver, a length of wire and a callsign _________________ CPU-Me! Hippo's Collection Online |

most times ICQ or other IM tools are served to be a way of finding new friends among unkonwn candidate, so it is likely to communicate first by typing words. _________________ My vintage CPU collection:www.cpumuseum.com

It's just about what you are looking for, different tastes.
I don't use IM for the same purpose as yours, finding typing time consuming.
Everyone likes it's own. |

| Ha.. IRC , oh man.. I used to hang on EFNET for years. Those were the days. First started back in 1993/4 in ircbar. I never took to ICQ, I prefer MSN and facebook to keep in touch. Facebook is not as good as it once was since they messed with the apps. |
