Upgrade of a ECS 945GCT-M3(V3.0) CPU

I would like to upgrade my CPU, currently have a Intel Celeron 440 @ 2.00 Ghz. I see the board can use a wide range. Any suggestions.

It doesn't look like quad-core processors are supported by your motherboard:

so obvious choices are:

E6600/E6700/E7300

I'm looking at the E7300. How difficult is this to do. Bios update neded? I guess i'm looking for some guidence on how to preform this task.

Check your BIOS version and compare with what BIOS is needed. Updating BIOS is not difficult - just make sure you backup old BIOS in case if you need to restore it, and don't turn off computer power during update. Detailed instructions are on ECS website:

There is a link "How to use flash utility" on that page. You will need to know which BIOS you have. I don't have this motherboard so I can't help with it.

I not really into computers but i have the same problem... I talked to a friend and he said if it would fit in the socket it should work, but i'm here looking for a second opinion.
