have studied it since then and its not going into the fake box yet
just trying to work out how to take better picks of the etched markings on the base. When the sun comes up, I will try and take better pics. _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world:

Do you have more than two boxes? The markings on the back are so unusual that I'd say it's a fake. They look like somebody copied them from the back of plastic PGA processors.

Also, "INTEL" and copyright look different than on the front of other boxed processors. Datecode/lot combination is the same as on the page below (see comments) but the factory is different:

I bet it is. BTW, I corrected the SL2BM page - I removed a note about ceramic package.

I've come across two of these ceramic P233MMX chips. I removed the heatsink from one of them and it was a 166 (can't recall the sspec) like Neon_WA's one. I've kept the other one intact. The intact one is marked as SL293.
I've been cataloguing my collection and I've found a surprising number of fakes. It must have been quite a widespread practice in its day. I found a Pentium 133 that looks fairly normal on the top.
Until you look at the bottom side.
Both these sspecs refer to P133, but as the chip has two different sspecs, I assume that its fake! |
