Has anyone seen this auction? I'm always seeing auctions of huge lots of CPUs going for scrap, but it would be a pity for these cpus to go to scrap! If only the price was a lot lower.

($199 + $35 (shipping)) / 99 cpu = 2.36 $ per chip
Not bad, but usually you know nothing about condition, sspecs, etc.
For collectors it might be only a several interesting chips in entire heap.

Then I would be careful what anyone says about the value. Don't want to turn him into a shill bidder:)

It does surprise me if he is a member that he did not attempt to sell any of them here first to people who want to preserve them!

I just sent a PM asking him (tredsaw12) to list his chips in the Forum, so fellow members have a chance to purchase some, before they're offered to scrappers on Ebay.
No way to tell for sure he'll get it, since his last PM activity here was in May 2008... Rolling Eyes

If you can't contact him here, you could try to contact him through eBay.

I often list common scrap cpu's on e-bay instead of here. They are worth a heck of allot more as gold than for collect ability. That being said, 387's are worth more as collectibles so I have never listed them in a scrap lot.
