Siemens machine.....

i found one huge Siemens machine...
looks like a printer with classic keyboard on front but also in the right side have some kind of paper roll and this machine creates holes in the paper....like the old code cards.....
also have one reader for this paper strings.....
i dont find outside any model name....inside i found only the: modell PT80

when i disassemble this heavy machine (about 30 kilos) i found this 2 interesting boards......

many ceramic chips from Siemens also....
i think is all custom part chips so no luck to find nothing about....

Most of the strangely labeled chips are probably just ordinary 74xx TTL chips. Siemens HL division (HL = Halbleiter = semiconductor) had their own labeling scheme for these.

A co-worker once had a Siemens data book that listed these together with their 74xx equivalent numbers, but I lost contact to him about 10 years ago.

but i think this white purple chips are more complex mos chips than ttl's....

this machine came from have many many motors and automatic mech parts....
i think at least one of this is some mcu cpu and other are keyboard controller ,decoder encoders ect.....

the board also have some old roms from intersil..

You could trace the data / address lines from the ROMs to some other chip... that might be a CPU.

yes i thought too that....
its the top middle purple chip in the photo......
also near this there are some ochillator crystal...
so may is the cpu of all this unit....
but never we know for sure

the 604c is connected directly with the memory...
also the other 2 below are connected with the 604c so i think here is the "chipset" ....

also i photo the osc....
first time i see this part in this package....its at 1mhz ~

So maybe it was a version of this series (T1000).

This is like the story of the keyboard / synthesizer that we 'investigated' one time (from just some photos of PCBs)

but it have one more peripheral...
right from keyboard has nothing(instead of photo) and "outside" the machine is mounted the reader of the dot matrix paper...

what is the purpose of this machine im not still understand...

From this file I think we found some of the IC functions:

IC 1 = Keyboard controller
IC 2 = Transmitter controller
IC 3 = ?
IC 4 = Punch controller
IC 5 = Decoder output
IC 6 = Printer controller


Oh, by the way; the machine is a 'Telex' teletype machine (used before fax / email to send messages over distances)
