The "Australian syndrome" is hitting the US.

Interesting, I'm expecting this pandemic soon in Europe, looking forward to it.

Some of are getting extremely lucky these days. The only time I found a pc "in the nature", had been stripped of any intersting parts.
--------

Never had an A-1000 in my hands, max was a 900 of a friend, but he sold the pc, so no "I'll take care of it for you".

I think PGA 286 motherboards are more and more difficult to find, on deuttai.com we looked after one since many months to test some strange chips. Keep it intact Smile

I don't think that any of the slot A are rare;

if I recall, the fastest slot A processors were not favorites at launch, because the socket A platform was available with equally fast processors. So the 600-800 seem to show up a lot more frequently.

I just won an eBay auction of slot A processors, which should arrive next week. If they are all 1000's, then I will change these words.

If they are all 1000's, I'll take one off your hands Smile

@ donutty...I hope you are going to keep the PC AT (IBM) complete!
I would love to pull the CPU from this PC....but it's in such nice condition and the hard-drive purrs, so I guess I'm stuck keeping it intact if I can find a way to access the os on the hard-drive, since the IBM Basic screen appears at startup and I don't know how to switch to DOS or whatever is running on the hard-drive!
Any help would be appreciated.

Just pull that 286 and put a different (more common) 286 in there! That's what I do in this situation.
