I bought a bunch of these flatpaks and they were sold as IBM chips that were picked up when they closed the Oswego N.Y. plant. Can anyone ID what these are exactly or even verify that they are IBM chips for me. One thing about them is that they are in a holder thats pretty darn impressive to see, there are two levers on the bottom of the black case that you flip and it is released from the carrier. Neat chips none the less, just trying to verify what they are exactly. _________________ "The only reason for time is so that everything doesn't happen at once." A.E. |

Ok I dug out the old microscope and heres what i see, only three idfferent markings, none of which so far has helped me to ID this chip yet. Altho i can confirm it was made in the USA _________________ "The only reason for time is so that everything doesn't happen at once." A.E. |

Is there a special type of of microscope that can take closeup pics with a camera...and not too expensive?
I'd like to be able to look at my chip dies and find hidden figures, messages, etc. |

OK I took some more time to examine this chip and i found another marking on it today, I think it says IDT but i am not positive, what do you guys see. I know the quality of the pics are not good, but its the best this $20 microscope can do and i am even using extra lighting just to get these. I will spend more time later trying to get a better pic of this. But remember this pic is taken at 200x magnification already. And it makes it very hard to get the object moved and into a good place in the frame. _________________ "The only reason for time is so that everything doesn't happen at once." A.E. |
