I have an old computer, which I still use sometimes, with a PC Chips M848A motherboard, version 5.0B. It uses Socket-A, which supports the AMD Athlon XP/Sempron processors. I want to upgrade the Athlon XP 1800+ processor and would like to know what the limit would be with this motherboard. Can it handle an Athlon XP 2200+ or higher?

Also, I have a 300W power supply. Would that be enough for a higher processor?

I haven't been able to contact the manufacturer.

In advance, thanks.

Look here:

It seems you could use any of the 200, 266, or 333 FSB processors.
