I have been using a HP PSC750 all in one for some time. but it has been getting worse.

Not how unstraight it is lol

Any suggestions for a good chip scanner in the $75 range?

I am using an Epson V300, it works very well. I keep meaning to find a piece of glass or clear film to protect the scanner glass from being damaged . My old scanner was damaged from scanning a couple hundred chips.

Epson and Canon seem to be the best but I like Epson better. I see 2-4 year old Epson's at my local thrift store for 5.00 all the time, might want to check yours.

Just make shure its a CCD based scanner, since other types (Canon LiDE for example) does have very limited field.

I got a new scanner!!! a Canoscan 5600F, and BOY am I pleased, its fast, quiet, and has a decent depth of field.

I got a piece of 1/16" inch glass to protect its own glass (so if I scratch it, its easy to fix)

"Tom's Hardware" has reviews of tech toys and maybe some good scanner reviews?

I have a very good scanner!

Anyone here wants to lend me a 4004 for tests? I'll give it back when finished Smile lol

I have a Lide from Canon, and it's slow with average resolution (paid 40€ I think). Have not started funds for a good scanner as you guys have all my cpus in pictures already - this is just great as I don't need to spend hours doing the job Smile Smile

So thanks to all of you!
