To Frag and Igor--
Can you tell me if this old 1909 Russian 25 Ruble bill is valuable?
I found it in an old history book I got recently and haven't had time to research it yet.
It looks like it has a picture of Czar Alexander III?
Thanks...> maybe it will get me some special chips from Russia??? |

It's not my specialization...
I made a search. It seems that there are alot of the same paper sales from $0.5 to $5
for example: http://bid.com.ua/item/2276809.htm
first line:
Стартовая цена: 10.00 грн | 1.30 $ | 42.62 руб | 0.97 € (курс НБУ)
Starting bid: 10.00(local currency) | 1.30 $ | ......
second line:
Осталось времени: 2дн. 1ч. 38мин. | 18.04.2009 11:57 | 09.05.2009 11:57
Time left: 2d 1h 38m ............... ending 09.05.2009 11:57 (GMT +2:00)
Will see what happens in two days _________________ My Want List: http://www.cpu-world.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=22729

Thanks "comrades".
Strange that so many of these 100 year old bills are still around.
I'll just keep it as a piece of Russian history. |

Did you actually find this coin?
I hear about people finding buried hoards of Roman coins in the UK.
(Ask Donutty...)
Any items thousands of years old are exciting to find....just like finding 1970's chips...lol |

No argument there.
But which is more interesting; the defective new $50 Quarter
or
A 2000 year old Roman coin worth $50 that could have been handled by Roman citizens like these??

Stuff is found frequently in the UK, and the reality is MOST of it goes unreported, and is sold off pretty quickly.
The stuff you get to hear about is too OBVIOUS, so ends up being reported as it cant be sold for its true value. |
