Can I replace AMD ATHLON XP-M axmh2200fqq3c with AMD ATHLON XP AXDA2400DKV3C in a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Laptop?
They look confusingly alike. Or can't I swap these two cpu-family?
I really want a cheap upgrade to this laptop.
Looking forward for an answer.

AXDA2400DKV3C isn't mobile version but it doesn't mean will not work in your laptop. Upgrade from 2200+ to 2400+ doesn't have a sense ... _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |

I have no idea whether your laptop supports the AXDA2400DKV3C CPU or not, but even if it does:
- Performance difference between 2200+ and 2400+ is so minor that, in my opinion, upgrading doesn't make sense.
- AXDA2400DKV3C dissipates more power than the AXMH processor, and has lower maximum operating temperature. It's likely that your current fan/heatspreader in the laptop will not be adequate for the CPU, which may kill the CPU.
- AXDA2400DKV3C consumes more power than the AXMH processor, i.e. your batteries will not last as long as before.

But what cpu can I put in this laptop? The one I got now got Thoroughbred core. I can't upgrade with an Barton core?
Would I ble able to swap from?:
AMD Mobile Athlon XP-M 2200+ - AXMH2200FQQ3C (Thoroughbred core)
to
AMD Mobile Athlon XP-M 2600+ - AXMA2600FKT3C (Thoroughbred core)
My motherboard is ATI RAPTOR Rev0.4b with BIOS Phoenix 1.06.
Cant find info about it on the internet. Thats why I am asking you guys here. [/b] |
