Yea for once my wise ass remarks have paid off with someone extremly interesting joing in the conversations on this forum. Would the good DR. have said anything if I hadnt made this outragous post to begin with? I find it funny that every once in a while it works out for the better  Thanks for sharing with us

If you dident made that comment here - I would never have joined and answered...
I was actualy trying to find out who the hell i was competing against for that new p4004 on ebay...
BTW I made thouse for the computer room - You will proberly like tis sort of art - LOL

I make a 386 and 486 aswell. The 80c187 Is bought only to do this displaycase.

True... I would love to have a real Intel 80c187 for the case - But dont make a rework now - It is as it is.. But yes a real intel would have been better. To tell the truth dident knew that a 80C187 did exsist, before a few month ago when I was looking after other co-processors...
So I got this non intel one and used it. Anyway the frames will be mounted at the computer rooms wall to give the final toutch.  |

These displays are really professionally done!
Are you an Elec. engineer?
Your 80186 in PGA package is the first I've seen, as is the 80187 in CDIP package. 
We love seeing different ways to display collections.

No I am LAN manager in a insurrance company... I started to study Elc. engneer. but got this job offer at the insurrance company. So I decided to drop out. (Almost 12 yrs ago - lol)
I think I have one more of thouse 80186 PGA. I check tomorrow.. But as I recall pins are bend (My mistake) bad storage - But no missing pins... So if you want it and if I still have it we sort it out...
I can upload all pictures text ect. ect. to my server for the frames, if you like.. Then you can do them by your self (Proberly better) . Frames are 50 cm. * 50 cm. bought in IKEA... I make the 386 frame soon - Then I can make pictures how to do it. Itīs pretty easy....
But again I am not a "real" collector like you guys - I just made thouse because I had the chips, and thought it was a bit cool.. But after joined this site I am started to think about collecting CPU's and FPU's but havent decided yet. I am not sure I have the space, the time and the $$$ to do it..
I dont have a source for chips... And my IBM, IBM PS/2 collection and parts, have taken more then 10 yrs. to get to the state, where it is now.
My first computer was a IBM PS/2 model 30... Thats the main reason it ended up beeing IBM. I remember looking at the model 90 and so when I had the model 30. I always dreamed about getting a modele 90 and I think thats the main reason I started collecting IBM. |

Intel - Pentium 60 is worth USD 100+ ????
Is that the price for thouse.. ?? And price if 100% working and looks like new ???
What is estimated price for the Pentium 66 if 100% working and looks like new ???
I am a bit curius ...
Edit: Not that important - The few I have, is all with glued heatsink... 2nd I am not destroying my CPU boards for PS/2 model 95..
Where can I learn a bit more about value of CPU's and so??
I don't have the slightest idea, what stuff is worth 
I know what IBM PS/2 parts are worth - But in this matter I am totaly blank - lol

Collectors in the forum have paid $100 for ES 60
as for normal or F-Div 60 & 66 i have picked up a few in the past few months and i havent paid more than $15 including shipping for each.

I sold some early 486s that i know normally sell for $15.. for only $2 as that is all they are worth to me. Here in Perth, Australia i can find 486s quite easily still sitting in complete puters. I realise the old saying one mans trash is onother man treasure is very true 
Where i have come across some nice complete name brand systems, i have tried to keep them intact.
So far i have 8088, V20, 80286, 80386, 80486 and so forth systems..... plus a IBM Server 320 & a PA-Risc driven HP D class 9000. Also have been keeping examples of early micro home computers like BBC-Micro, Amiga & Commodore.

Hi all
Thanks again. Sorry for not knowing that mutch and asking alot of quistions.
There you go - I got a usefull answer, about what a thing is worth. (I am not kidding here, thanks)
You ask your self what it is worht. Its the same as microchannel collecting. I have more then 600 - 700 different MCA adapter cards.
And its the same golden roule.. In the start you dont have the slightest idea. But later you get a good feeling about prices, what is reasonable and what is too high..
Now I started to look ind the sell trade forum here to get an idea of what a reasonable price is for a nice CPU/FPU. I am still thinking of starting collect - If I choose to start, then my next thought will be limit it, like I did with my computers. Only one brand and a period.
If I decide to start collect, then it proberly will be Intel and Intel only from the start (4004) - (486) or so.. But when 386 serie was launched, Intel started make a lot of different CPU's - 486 and up is a "nightmare" there are alot of steppings/cpu codes... When you reach 486, then you have 486 DX - 486 SL - 486 SLC - 486 DLCh- 486 SX - 486 DX2 486 DX4 - 486 overdrive - Rapid CAD ect. ect. I am impressed of you guys, to tell the truth. When I look at your collections at the internet, I simply say wow thats a cool collection this guy have.
I have alot of them like the Rapid CAD and so. You can say I have the start, Alot of CPU's in my computers. I have some Weitek FPU's aswell for intel like the Weitek 3167 - 025 - 3167 - 033 - 4167 - 025 - 4167 - 033. But thats Non Intel. So where to draw the line is diffecult for me aswell. I like the Co-processors from different manufactures aswell. And I am not starting from scratch, As I said before, I have alot of them stored in my computers already and they stay where they are. So thats my conciderations about collect CPU's right now.
But i just mention it once more, if you want a copy of all the files I used for my artwork - I can upload it to my server. So you can make the same or somthing better. So if there is a interest I upload the pictures text ect. ect.

| I am starting to draw the line at Pentium 2 era, so everything below I will collect, everything above (unless something a bit different like PowerPC etc.) will be sold off. You could collect every processor and variation ever made, if you have the space for it. |
