ok so i got this board 8 months ago and one day when i powered on
something on the board blew and shot flames out of the case. inspection showed a triac was burnt. so i rma'd it and got another board. now this board wont post. no video, no beeps, nothing. just spinning fans. i have tried 6 different ram sticks, 2 different video cards, 3 different power supplies.
the only thing i dont have a duplicate of is a cpu. i notice if i let it run it will shut down and the cpu cooler seems too hot. i wonder if somehow it blew the onboard memory controller. any ideas? rma the board again or buy a new cpu? thanks for any help.

amd 2.6x2
gigabyte ga-ma78gm-s2h
visiontek hd4850
seagate 500 gb sata
4gb mushkin ddr2800
corsair 750 power supply

upon closer inspection of the cpu there seems to be some small black spots on the die around the cpu pins. they seem stuck on the die and pins but come off easily. a sign of a fried cpu perhaps?
