Celeron M 340 upgrade

I am trying to upgrade Celeron M 340 CPU to a relatively fast
Pentium M CPU.

Here is the spec for Celeron M 340:

1.5 GHz
L2 - 512 KiB
FSB - 400 MHz
Socket 479


I was looking at the link on Socket 479 for this site.
According to the link, the fastest CPU option is the

Pentium M 765
2.1 GHz
L2 - 2 MB
FSB - 400 MHz

The L2 is different by four-fold. Would this cause a problem? Would the motherboard accept this change?!

By the way, the Celeron M 340 is in a Toshiba M35X-S149 laptop. The motherboard P/N is K000019660. I don't know who makes this mobo.
I tried to find out the mobo maker by putting the part number down
and it comes up empty repeatedly.

So I don't know if I can make the upgrade above. Any thought on this?

I'd guess it would work. Have you tried checking what was the fastest option CPU to buy with this laptop? If not 765 then 760. Bigger problem is that these Pentium M's cost A LOT (and then some more), even Mobile Core 2 Duos are cheaper. Even finding a fast Pentium M may be a challenge.
Most Pentium M/Celeron M bioses, whatever the manufacturer, had support up to at least Pentium M 760. However, if your laptop uses a Banias core Celeron, it would be safest to go with the fastest Banias based Pentium M (FSB400, 1MB cache, 1.8GHz if I am correct)
