so i got this yesterday and i searched the web for info, the only picture i found was here
http://www.chipdb.org/img-intel-core-2-quad-q8200-at80580aj053hn-qjkq-es-7030.htm
so i knew it was a q8200, so i looked on intel's website for the order codes. This was OEM and the closest one i could find was
AT80580AJ0534MN meaning a q8200S
the only difference was the 2nd to last letter on mine is an H and using the OEM ID guide on here i discovered it was indeed a q8200S (45nm, low power) interesting enough the H told me it means virtualization tech, which as far as i know, a q8200 does NOT have.
so if that's true, this makes the chip very unique, am i right?
im new to all of this, but im curious to see how much this thing may be worth and how rare is this particular chip and did i ID it correctly?

btw chek this....link |
that is the link i have up there, but if i ID'd this correctly, that photo is wrong, as it should be listed as a q8200S not a regular 8200 |

"H" represents L2 cache cache, which is probably 4M. I can't say for sure because there are no production Intel parts that end with "HN". If it stands for 4 MB then your processor is Q8200S, and it doesn't have Virtualization.

"H" stands for Virtualization technology only when it's at the end of the part number. In your case "H" is not the last letter in the part number.

ok that makes more sense, i wasnt sure if that last letters were stackable, like multiple options
so we know now then that 4h must be 4mb L2 cache for a ES C2Q i dont know what else it may apply to |

ES cpus are more valuable than commercial cpus on old models, because they are searched for by collectors.
On new cpus, it depends. Some people would not like to buy a prototype cpu with all the risk which could occur, and some will pay more for them because of unlocked multiplier. So I would say that you could try to sell it for 240 and see what'll happen. If none wants it at this price, just lower the price... _________________ Register on x86-guide.net to manage and share your collection on-line !

Mostly all here are collectors and this is not yet a collectable CPU since it still has a higher value for a ordinary user, so its kinda hard to say and perhaps why there aren't any replys.
Out of a collecting point of view there are little difference between a 6-7 year old Pentium III engineering sample and this one. I would give $30-40 for it to put it in a drawer with the rest of my collection. If its something really unique, a bit more.
So my recommendation is to check with a overclocking forum. Perhaps this is a overclockers dream worth gazzillions, perhaps it does not overclock well at all? They would know that.
But ES can be a bad thing also, its a unfinished cpu with possible errors, bugs and no warranty. _________________ My collection: http://www.cpucollection.se :::::: http://www.chipdb.org Photos of chips you never knew existed. Now over 6000 different chips in the database. |
