|
|
| Hello, I have an Advent 8109 Laptop with an Intel Celeron M420 ( according to the sticker on the back) and so far have increased the Ram from 1 to 2 Gig and installed a larger HD ( from 60 to 180 Gig ) now I wish to improve the CPU. I have the chance of buying an SL9VP Intel Core 2 Duo Mobile T5200 and am wondering if it is compatible with the MoBo. If not does anyone know what CPU will fit and work to give it the much needed boost. Maybe I need to install the Pentium equivalent I don`t know but I would rather improve the Laptop than spend vast amounts of money that I do not have by replacing it with a modern unit. Many thanks in advance. |

Celeron M 420 is a socket M processor. Your laptop will likely support Core Duo processors - they are based on the same microarchitecture as Celeron M 4x series. If your laptop has Intel 945GM chipset then it may support Core 2 Duo processors up to T7600.
